Pachypodium Geayi 'Madagascar Palm'
Like the other ‘Madagascar Palm’, Pachypodium Lamerei, this pachypodium is actually a tree and can grow up to 26 ft. tall. Of course it can also grow indoors as a houseplant. It has long and thin gray-green leaves and silvery-white spines growing along its dark gray caudex. Semi-deciduous in winter. Mature plants bloom white flowers in the summer. Found in Madagascar. Available in 1 size. Plant shown is in 6 in. pot and roughly 1 ft. tall.
Care:
Partial shade to full sun
Water once a week in spring and summer
Keep dry in winter; or if kept indoors and heating system is used water once a month
Allow soil to dry between waterings; never let the roots sit too long in wet soil
Well-draining soil; cactus/succulent mix
Protect from frost and cold nights
If you live along the coast the plant might require less watering if kept outside
